Results You Can Trust
Home pregnancy tests are easy to find but not always reliable. Taking one too early, skipping a step in the directions, or simply being too anxious to read it clearly can all affect accuracy.
If you are not certain your result is right, coming in for a no-cost test at our center is the straightforward next move.
Our staff provides no-cost pregnancy testing in a confidential setting and will go over your results with you before you leave. You will walk out the door with answers.
Early Signs of Pregnancy
Not sure whether a test is even worth taking? Here are some symptoms that commonly show up in early pregnancy:
- A missed or late period
- Nausea or vomiting
- Breast tenderness or swelling
- Fatigue
- Frequent urination
- Light spotting or cramping
- Mood changes or food aversions
None of these symptoms confirms a pregnancy on its own. Stress, hormonal fluctuations, and other health factors can produce the same signs. Testing is the only way to know initially.
How the Test Works
Pregnancy tests identify the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG, a hormone your body produces after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. Because hCG levels build gradually, testing too close to a missed period can produce a false negative even when a pregnancy exists.
Our staff can help you think through the timing and whether returning for a second test is recommended.
What Happens After a Positive Result
A positive result is meaningful, but it is not the complete picture. The next recommended step is an ultrasound referral to verify how far along you are and confirm other key details before any decisions are made.
Our staff will walk you through what that involves and help you get connected.
